Grande beijo Brasil!
Carmen Monarcha.

Just for the record

In 2001 i won the first prize in the "International Vocal Contest Bidu Sayão", that takes the name of a very importante brasilian singer.
I was very proud of being chosen among such talented joung singers, because i knew what it would mean in my carrer, to carry the name of this woman in my resumè.
She gave wings to a genuine brasilian talent and had a wonderful international carrer. It's impossible not to have her as an example!

I leave you here with the link of this competition, where you can learn more about her and her incredible success.

Ladies and Gentleman,
i present you
Ms. Sayão!

In april, I also had the oportunity to take part in a very especial concert.
It was the first time that i sang for an United Nations event.
They was in the Amazon to celebrate the international day of the Water, a vital element of our nature, and of course, there was no better place than Amazon-Brazil to host it!
I sang songs of a simphonic poem called "The Amazon Forest" by Villa-Lobos.

The celebration of Mr. Waters!

Liberty lectures the new generation.

Liberty arrives among the chaos of the revolution.

The death of Queen Marie Antoinette.
Marie Antoinette: Gabriela Pace - soprano.

Liberty and the priest being confronted by the reality of poverty.
Priest: Thiago Soares - tenor

Liberty giving the book of reason to the Ringmaster.
Ringmaster: Leonardo Neiva - baritono

The story told by the clowns!

The union makes the revolution in the end of the opera

Ladies and Gentleman,
i have the honour to present you one of the most aclaimed musicians of our time - Mr. Roger Waters!
I had the pleasure to meet him personally and work with him in the last month of april, when i was performing in his opera called - "Ça Ira" or "There is hope", presented in the Amazonas Opera Festival, in Manaus, Brazil.
His is an incredible man by what he represents to music and to the society. He is a man that spreads out to the world the ideas of freedom, equality and fraternity into his music, either in a rock show or inside of the melodies of his opera.
He unites music lovers everywhere he goes!
"Ça Ira" talks about the French Revolution and what people in that time needed and hoped for.
I know that words like freedom, fraternity and equality sound like they are out of context if they are not in a book or in a fairy tale movie, but why? Why can't we still dream with it? When did we give up? Why things have to be so easy for few and so difficult for all the rest?
We musicians can not change the world, but we can change people by making them feel, by touching their hearts.

I want to thank you Roger, for making me a better person, for making me believe again!

Welcome to my official blog!
Here i created a space for me to share with you my latest news - either by pictures, comments or images.
Thank you for visiting it and enjoy it!
